I went to the National Archives and looked at the TVA relocation files
and was able to obtain all information on the cemetery identified as
#14/Asa James Cemetery. Thought you might like to include this in the
records you've compiled. This is from Resource Group COU, Cemtery
Relocation Records 1933-1985, Box 50, Hiawassee Project, Grave
Relocation Permits.
Eight graves were moved to Murphy City Cemetery as follows:
#1 Infant Jimesson, 0 years, died still born in 1898
#2 Infant James, 0 years, died still born about 1883. Through records I
have identified this as the child of John James, son of Asa James and
Elizabeth James.
#3 Arabella James, age 2 years, born about 1851. This is the daughter
of Asa and Elizabeth James
#4 Asa James, age 48 years, died of heart failure about 1864.
Information in this file is incorrect. I know his age at death to have
been about 59 (he was born in 1805).
#5 Elizabeth James, age 84 years, died of heart failure about 1896.
This is Asa's wife.
#6 Elizabeth James, age 71 years, died of heart failure about 1908.
This is the daughter of Asa and Elizabeth James.
#7 Lou Fate James, age 61 years, died of heart failure about 1908. This
actually is Lafayette James, son of Asa and Elizabeth James.
#8 Infant Moore, age 0, died of unknown reasons. Further identity
unknown.
#9 Infant McTaggart, of unknown age, died in unknown year of unknown
reasons. This probably is the child of Asa and Elizabeth's daughter
Frances Ann who married John McTaggart.
#10 Unidentified Stewart of unknown age, died in unknown year. No
further identity known.
#11 Unidentified Stewart. Same as #10
#12 Unidentified Child. Same as #10
#13 Unidentified Child. Same as #10
