The Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery is located on Hopewell Road a few yards off Highway 64 West, approximately 14 miles west of Murphy, North Carolina.
The first meetings of Hopewell Baptist Church were held in a private home on Tilson Road about one half mile from the presently located church. The present location is the old Bryant homeplace, according to Mr. Wade Bryant. The first building was constructed of logs and was located in the vicinity of the present church, probably facing in a different direction. The first statistics from the Truett Association in the year 1858 are as follows:
| Post Office: | England's Point |
| Delegates' Names: | Alexander Grant, Henry Harris, William Buse |
| Membership: | 17 |
| Offering: | $.50 |
If anyone has information about persons buried in the cemetery without marked stones, corrections or additions to the information given, please contact: Joyce Durand
