Mrs. F.M. Johnson, 78 yrs of age was taken by death Saturday after several weeks of illness. She was born in Gilmer County, Ga. in 1859 where she accepted her faith in Christ at an early age and joined the Baptist church. At the age of 20 she was married to Francis Marien Johnson of Fannin County, Ga. Shortly after their marriage they moved to this county. After taking an interest in the Baptist church at Little Brasstown, she had her letter moved from Gilmer to Brasstown where she remained a christian until death. The funeral services were held at the Little Brasstown church 15 December 1937 with Rev. John Green officiating.
I (Iva Arpin) will add my info on this lady. Her name was Sarah Jane Champion, she was the daughter of Abner and Patsy Ramey Champion of Gilmer, Ga. Sarah is buried at Little Brasstown Cem. with Francis and some of her children. Sarah and Francis were closly associated with the Folkschool for many years.
