"Early this week I spent the better part of a day in the Marshall courthouse typing the names from the Wills Index Books for my buddies. I copied up to 1950. I believe the date is the probate date but don't hold me to prove it. I decided to type only the names and yr. date, not the book and page #'s because of the environment in which I had to work. At least with this list you can determine if any are possible items you will want. You can write the clerk of the court at the courthouse, write the archives, or ask me to get copies of what is available for you on one of my trips down there. I found copying next to robbery at the courthouse but at least the service is available. Certainly no work space, counter tops, or flat surfaces for a computer. Maybe one day real soon they will get the bank building next door and add the much needed space. Would you believe to use some of the books the secretary must get up and you help move her desk and all the computer connections from the wall of books. She is a great personality and just rolls with the punches. The people make the place fun but the work conditions leave a bit to be desired. Hope you find some much needed good stuff from this list.
